Question:
How does Google handle the duplicate content and how does it affect negatively to SEO?
According to Matt, the web is full of duplicate content and you can say 25 to 30% content is duplicate. So they handle it very wisely. Usually duplicate content will not lead to any direct penalty, but it might be affected in a way which cause some negative effect. In general language, If two websites or webpages has a similar or duplicate content, Google will compare both the pages for quality assurance and other factors like age of page,backlinks, etc. and will display anyone out of the two. They handle duplicate content site as clusters and decide position depending on other factors.
Does that mean you got a licence to be scrapper?
Nope, not at all. Because still quality guidelines are there. According to that if you just copy the content and do not add any value to it then it will not perform well in terms of rankings in search engines. Also if you copy someone's content which is copyright protected, your site might get suspended by a hosting company or you have to face the negative consequences according to DMCA [Digital Marketing Copyright Act]. Apart from that Google Panda is still there to fught against low quality content.
Confused? weather to use copy or not?
No, do not copy the content. Whether it affect negatively or not is different case, but it will surely affect your rankings negatively. Add some value to content. Like I got information from Matt's video, but I added more information, details and consequences by my experience which added value to this blog post and prevented it by being copied content ;) You can take idea from others, but you have to create content on your own if you really want to be in market and want to male best out of your content marketing.

So let me share some tips forhow can you get the best result from communities.
Find few communities of your Interest.
Rather than being an inactive member of 100 related or unrelated communities, it will be better to be an active member of closely coupled communities. Search for few “high profile”and “active” communities of your interest area & be an “Active” member there. It will help you a lot in a way that you will exchange information with the experts of your domain. You can get best out of experts' experience and knowledge.
Fill Profile Precisely with All Personal & Professional Details.
This will be your first step in any community. Anyone will know you with this page and information filled here. The page called “Profile”. You have to make sure that information, you have filled in profile page is accurate, informative and brief about what you are and why you are. You must be conscious about the information. You must include the professional information like your profession, webpage, etc. This page will add an extra factor called “trust factor” for you in the community. Many people lack this point due to laziness & sometimes get banned or no response from community members under the impression of a fake profile/person.
Introduce yourself To Community
Make the effort of introducing yourself to other community members by creating an introduction thread. You can state briefly about yourself, why you have joined the community, what you are seeking for and most important thing to mention is how you can help the community?
Community is a Give & Take Relation. Be a GIVER.
The most important thing is community is working with an agenda of “NO PERSONAL GAIN”. So try to help others as much as possible. Don't seek for solutions of your problem only. Also try to help others as much as possible.

Community - The Helping Hand: Brief Guide: Part 1
Community..!! We have heard this term many times in personal as well as professional life. Today, We will have a deep dive into the subject “Community and how it can help us?”. There can be many nontechnical people reading this article, so I will make it as simple as possible so any apprentice can even understand.
What a Community mean?
In simple word, when a group of people with mutual interest gathers and show willingness to help each other and/or exchange the knowledge with each other without any expectation of personal gain, the platform/place where they gather is known as community.
Types of Community
There are 2 types of community:
Personal community is a platform/place where people of the same cast, religion and/or interest gathers and help each other. Personal community can be social where people with same cast meet each other in various social functions like wedding, funeral, social get together, etc. Another kind of personal community can be Local Student community where students of the same college and/or University helps each other in various ways. We all know how does such communities help us so I'm not going into much detail of it.
Professional Community
Professional community can help people to grow in their career by solving their problems, giving guides, manuals, job offers and much more. We will explore the professional community and how to make best out of it.

I will not give any techy definitions of SEO as there are millions available online. I will just talk about some facts which might be helpful to new generation to explore new career option of SEO. First, I would like to break the myth “SEO is a data entry job”. This is absolutely wrong. SEO is only and only smart work.
Now let me describe, What is SEO?
“SEO, Search Engine Optimization is a technique which will help to increase your/your products online presence.” Mark the words in bold. It's not about guaranteed top 10 rankings for so called “trophy Phrases” or “keywords”. If you used to read online blogs and news, Google has become smarter, so SEO is no more job of running in the rat race of getting top 10 rankings for trophy phrases.

If I talk about India, Gujarat University has introduced new subject “SEO” as part of syllabus, which is showing worth of SEO as a career in its own.

Keywords and/or SEO are dead due to Hummingbird?
Nowadays, I often hear this question. In fact, few SEO Gurus
have just created long long blogs and presentations and what not on the topic,
“Keyword and keyword targeting is DEAD”. Few are a step ahead and saying “SEO is
dead”. In fact, few of my clients asking me to stop focusing on keywords
because according to hummingbird, now keyword is of no use. So this article is
to answer all those forecasters who are predicting that “keyword targeting &
SEO are dead due to hummingbird”.
First of all try to understand what hummingbird algo does
mean?
Hummingbird algo is a user-friendly algorithm who will try
to understand the conversational language query of normal user and will give
the best suitable result. This is the simplest definition of Hummingbird algo
and its functionality.
Now, we are coming back to the most heated question.
Is Keyword Targeting Dead? Is SEO Dead?
NO. The answer is straight no, not now and not will
be in future.
Why or How Keyword Targeting and SEO aren't dead?
If you came to this article via any search engine, then I just do not need to answer this. You just go back to your search result and check the query which you typed in and check the words which are bold in snippet. You will see the words which are bold are exactly the same as you typed in as search query. Is it so? You got your answer I guess.

If you are one of my followers or subscribers, then let me
clear the reason. I have made search with keyword “Digital Marketing with Ash
Vyas” and here is the snippet of top result I got from Google.
As you can clearly see all the results have the keywords
which are also known as search query in normal language. You can compare the
search query I used for my search with the bold keywords available in search
result. Do I need to say further to prove keywords are not dead nor SEO, nor
keyword targeting?
Now, let's take one more example for searching conversion
query. Let's say I search “asterisk services near Ahmedabad”. And, below is the
snippet of what I received as search result.
Picture says more than words. So, you might understand the
point that whether someone searches with either search query i.e. keywords or
conversational query i.e. keywords [again], the keywords were there, are there
and will be there.
Now Why or How Keyword Targeting and SEO Will Not be
Dead?
Usually those who are really looking out for some
professional or personal services, they will use queries which will have
keywords like “Hire SEO Engineer” or “Pizza center near Mansi Circle”. There
are keywords. And, SEO experts can easily recognize such keywords.
Myth of Hummingbird:
People are having myth that hummingbird has removed
keyword targeting, which is not so true. Hummingbird made search smarter that's
also from their own point of view and for end users so they can give the best
result to non technical people as well. Otherwise, search has not changed at
all for technical people. Yesterday, they were searching for “affordable SEO
services” and also today they will use the same words. And, Google will show
the result. Hummingbird has changed the scope of local searches. As SEO people
know there was no big change in search query results after launch of
hummingbird which was visibly seen in Penguin and Panda update. Google is advising
since ages to not to focus on specific keywords and not do this and not to do
that. And, these are the old standards set by Google and it's as it is. No
doubt Google has changed a lot, changed policies, but it will affect those of
SEO people who might practice massive SEO tactics. For ethical SEO people, it
is still the same. You just need to work smart by selecting and targeting right
keywords with right optimization and promotional strategies.

Google News: Google Analytics Layout Changed
Google seems to be in very aggressive mood these days. It seems like google has either decided to complete a to do task list which the google engineers might created in beginning of the year & as we are near to end of the year they are just started completing that to do list or Google has decided to cover headlines of almost all famous SEO blogs daily :)
After hummingbird, penguin update & No PR update announcement, one more change thrown by google today. Google analytics layout has been changed. Though this is not for the first time, Google is famous for back to back changes. Again withing 15 days 4 changes/announcements by google making SEO industry keep on moving.
Today's Google news is traditional google analytics navigation layout have some changes. Overview section which was showing direct, referral & organic traffic has been changed by a panel, namely, "acquisitions" which has 2 new subitems, namely, "overview & Channels"
Overview channel will give you an overview of overall performance of organic search [via search engines], direct traffic, referral traffic & social traffic with details separated in 3 parts.
1. Acquisition
Giving overview of total visits, % of new visits and new visits.
2. Behaviour
Gives an overview of bounce rate, pages/visit and avg. visit duration.
3. Conversions
Gives an overview of goal conversion rate, goal completion & goal value. This is the only section which gives you choice of selecting 1 goal out of x no of goals you have set. So you can see the performance of each goal you have set by selecting any from the small drop down buttonn.
Each of these section will give you the value in % and not in actual digits and that in horizontal bar chart.
Channel section will give you details of almost everything you might be seeking for. Channel section also have all the sections Acquisition -> overview has. The only twist is this section will give you more detailed values in form of actual digits rather than % or bar chart. You can see all the values with details so you can track from which channel out of 4 namely, organic, social, referral & direct. Again conversions have the selection option to measure the performance of individual goals.
You can navigate in traffic sources by clicking on traffic channel for more details as you were doing before. Rest of the things are as it is.
When you open the analytics, at first glance you might feel like lost in your own home. It's like after having relaxing sleep when you open your eyes interior of your house has been changed which might make you uncomfortable for a while as we used to be habitual and familiar with the old stuff and it seems bit difficult to get used to with new things. But when you take a deep breath and navigate it seems more productive, helpful and satisfying the meaning of name "analytics" which make your analysis task bit easier & more productive by comparision.
Though Google used to implement changes for better user experience for sure weather it is for normal net surfers or webmasters but back to back changes are making SEO industry bit uneasy with the stuff :)
We will wait for new changes or announcement by Google which will again rule the headlines of many authorised SEO & digital marketing blogs. And that can be expected in nearer future as per the footprints of google :)

Google News: No Google PR Update in 2013
Google's web spam head Matt Cutts came up with new headlines of many blogs and articles on twitter when he replied to Niels's question that he would be surprised if there is any page rank update in 2013.
In detail, Niels Bosch asked Matt Cutts on social media website twitter "Will there be any PR update before 2014? And Matt simply replied "He will be surprised if that happened". Check the below image of their tweet conversation
As the SEO industry knows it's almost more than 7 months last PR updated by Google and as per Matt, It won't get updated in nearer future. So those who were eagerly waiting for PR update have to wait more. Friendly advice I would say just stop getting worried about Page Rank because even Google might not getting much bothered about Page rank itself. And as per the symptoms of not updating PR, it seems PR will be one of the very minor factor to be considered for search engines rankings. We can also expect PR just flew away with any of Google algo bird.
What is Page Rank?
Those who are not aware of the fact that what is page rank here is brief for you. Page rank is a google toolbar digit which is kind of measurement of website having which kind of backlinks. As many well reputed & high PR websites are linking back to you as max page rank your website earn. Maximum page rank is 10 and minimum is NA or 0. Twitter has 10 Page rank. Google is very unbiased in terms of page rank as Google's own page rank is 9. Page rank is all about backlinks and have nothing to do with quality of content you have.
Page rank is topic of criticism since many years by SEO experts as higher page rank has been used by spammers to spam the net by paid links or bulk link building to get high page rank. SEO experts used to not bother much about page rank and care more for other better factors like traffic, quality, branding, reputation, etc. And I think after defending so many criticism against page rank Matt just replied in one of his recent videos that page rank will be updated less often. Google always used to advice to be more concerned about other factors to improve user experience and rankings rather than keeping eyes on PR. Somewhere in it's support Google's own web browser Gogole chrome don't have toolbar or built in PR check tool. As we all know new hummingbird algo changes old PR algo of ranking of Google. So Indutry experts are saying it can be predictable that page rank will be updated less often and then will be thrown away.
So PR is dead?
At the moment we can't say so strongly. We can just wait and watch and focus our energy at better place rather than focusing on page ranks.

What is Page Rank?
Those who are not aware of the fact that what is page rank here is brief for you. Page rank is a google toolbar digit which is kind of measurement of website having which kind of backlinks. As many well reputed & high PR websites are linking back to you as max page rank your website earn. Maximum page rank is 10 and minimum is NA or 0. Twitter has 10 Page rank. Google is very unbiased in terms of page rank as Google's own page rank is 9. Page rank is all about backlinks and have nothing to do with quality of content you have.
Page rank is topic of criticism since many years by SEO experts as higher page rank has been used by spammers to spam the net by paid links or bulk link building to get high page rank. SEO experts used to not bother much about page rank and care more for other better factors like traffic, quality, branding, reputation, etc. And I think after defending so many criticism against page rank Matt just replied in one of his recent videos that page rank will be updated less often. Google always used to advice to be more concerned about other factors to improve user experience and rankings rather than keeping eyes on PR. Somewhere in it's support Google's own web browser Gogole chrome don't have toolbar or built in PR check tool. As we all know new hummingbird algo changes old PR algo of ranking of Google. So Indutry experts are saying it can be predictable that page rank will be updated less often and then will be thrown away.
So PR is dead?
At the moment we can't say so strongly. We can just wait and watch and focus our energy at better place rather than focusing on page ranks.

Google News: Penguin Algo Updated
One more news from Google about an algorithm update. On 5th Oct, 2013, Matt Cutts, web spam head of Google announced that new version of Google penguin algo is released and it has affected 1% of search queries. Though 1% is as per Matt Cutts. Actual effect we will get to know in few days by reviews of experts & reactions of those who caught by this update. This announcement was made on social media website Twitter. Matt given it a name Penguin 2. Though many SEO experts has given it different numbers because after the first penguin update there were 4 major and few major penguin updates. Google used to announced it as penguin updated and the SEO experts given it various names by attaching different numeric digits. I think after the first penguin algorithm update this can be considered as some major change in the original penguin algo so they given it name Penguin 2. All previous updates must be the minor one so Google didn't bothered to give them numbers. So moral of the story can be rather than getting in to the confusion of numbers just focus on fact that PENGUIN IS OUT now.
Those who were already hurt by previous penguin updates and took necessary action to get rid of their penalty can hope for positivity and might get out of their penalty.

What is Penguin Algo Update? [Overview & History of Penguin Algo]
For those who are not from SEO field or those who never heard name of penguin algo before, I would like to say this penguin is not that black & white bird. But this penguin is that hunter who used to hunt those sites who are involved in spamming and witness of low quality SEO practice. First Penguin was announced on 24th April, 2012 and many big brands was caught by this update all over the world. It was the update which affected 3.1% of queries as per Google but I witnessed that change when so many SEO people were just clueless what is happening and what can be done next. Because at that time traffic of websites just gone 50 to 80% down who get caught by it. Of course it was quite difficult for them to figure out which links were of low quality & how to get rid from them. Even after removing those links they were just have to wait for next algo refresh to check weather the actions they took were right or not. One of the big Google penalty that was which made many SEOs reckless. After the 1st update 26th May, 2012 2nd penguin update announced which was followed by 3rd Penguin algo update announcement on 5th Oct, 2012; 4th Penguin algo update announcement on 22nd May, 2013.Who will affected by Penguin 2 Aka 5th Penguin Update?
Those sites which has low quality backlinks or over optimized [over optimization means blind link building without checking for relevancy or quality with almost same anchor text] will get negatively affected by this update. And trust me it will hurt very badly. daily traffic goes 200 to 20 :o and it is fact.Those who were already hurt by previous penguin updates and took necessary action to get rid of their penalty can hope for positivity and might get out of their penalty.
How to check weather your site is affected by Penguin or not?
Simple just keep watch on your traffic for 2-3 days. If you see major changes in your traffic then you are affected by Penguin. Sometime few algo update affects get visible later in other part of the world than US. So in that case keep eyes on traffic for a week. After 7 days, if you don't see any major changes then you can take deep breadth & get relaxed and focus your energy on regular progress. :) In counter-case, hope not you get caught but if you get caught then you have to pull up your shoes and need to find out all your backlinks then either you have to disavow it or have to remove it permanently and then wait for next algo refresh to check results weather your effort worked or not. When I am writing this I felt like I'm talking about some life taking disease which has no hope of survival :D and praying for God grace :) but precaution is always better so to get rid of there DO SMART SEO RATHER THAN HARD/WORTHLESS SPAMMY SEO.Is Hummingbird flew away?
If you are thinking penguin will rule the Google & hummingbird just flew away than wake up time. Hummingbird is overall ranking & indexing algorithm of Google. While Penguin is just a part of main algo which will fight with low quality spammy sites. So both hummingbird & Penguin & panda & all animals of Google zoo will work together for getting best result for better user experience.Prediction time
Though no other SEO expert stated this but my gut feeling is saying that after this 2 major updates we can expect new version of Panda or similar update in nearer future.As any other webmaster I have checked my sites and no bad news for me or my clients. Google News: Hummingbird - New Algo Announcement

The name "Hummingbird" is derived to express fast and precise result of the Google search. This algorithm is specifically designed to improve the search result for all devices. After 2010 "Caffeine" algo launch this is the complete algo change of google. The panda and penguin were just an algo update. Means both of them were minor/major changes to the already existing algorithm. While hummingbird is completely new algorithm which will sort and display the search result.
So what about Panda and penguin update? They are uneffective?
If you are thinking that now panda and penguin are gone and not going to affect you negatively and you got a free sky to spam the net with low quality links and content then you are going to feel bad with my upcoming lines :) The Hummingbird algo change has woven all previous updates including panda and penguin which means Google will make sure all the search result will filter out with the thumb rules of high quality content and authority. So you still have to follow the penguin and panda rules to be in top or to not get thrown out of the search result.Why hummingbird algo launched?
Google always want to make sure that the users get the best result out for what they are searching for. And for that google used to work day and night to assure quality result serving to it's users. Of course that is the reason Google is favorite of many and home page of many :) So to make result more quality and related to the search of user Google launched this algo.What will it do ? How will it affect the search result?
Hummingbird algo will try to understand the conversation search and deliver the best result. Now you might wonder what is conversation search? The answer is when someone insert query like conversation, for example "library near my area" "best alternative of joomla technology for website development" . In previous algorithm Google was used to go for a like query means it will show result with all those links which has any or many words from the query. but now Google will try to understand the complete query and will deliever the result as per the query. For example if someone search for "library near my area", in previous scenario Google might show all the result having keywords "library","near", "my", "are" or any combination of it. But now-onwards Google search algorithm will try to understand the query inserted and will even be more smarter and will also try to figure out your area [could be ahmedabad for me] and then display the relevant result means in previous scenario Google might show me libraries of US and UK and are of different places but now if i'm logged in it will sort result in a way that I see library list near or in ahmedabad. isn't it cool?If this is really what google is going to introduce then this concept sounds like graph search of Facebook to me. of course not for all queries but for few. don't you think so?
On other note it's quite cool feature from end user's perspective. I mean people who are not master in surfing the net and who are normal end user, this search algo will going to be boon for them i guess. As it will make search easier for them by serving the relevant result and excluding irrelevant results which it was showing before by it's like query practice.
Does it mean Google wont use like query? means Does google exclude result of combination of words of queries?
No. Google will use like query and will show result with combination of words as it was showing before. But the sorting of result will be in a different way. The most relevant result will be listed first. As simple as that.Hummingbird algo will hurt your website?
Have you noticed any drop in traffic or results in past month? No? Then it won't affect you. Because this algo rolled out before a month and the it was a smooth process so no-one noticed the change before announcement. After announcement many SEO people might dug their analytics stats :D So if there are any drop or increase in past month in your traffic stat then that's because of hummingbird change. If not, you are on safe side.Is SEO Dead with this algo launch?
LOL. why should SEO get dead with such algos change and update? SEO is just becoming smarter day by day. Each SEO people have to go with an agenda to get the quality services for their clients and that's the only intention of Google. So if Google and SEO both will work smartly to serve the quality result they can better be friends rather than thinking to kill each other :D SEO is not massive linkbuilding tactic anymore. But in very smart way use your logic and vision with thinking of 3rd person who might looking out for a service and what that person might look for? you just need to serve that as simple as that. Because if you do so, you will rank highr in Google as that's what google want to show the users high quality and relevant result. and it will also help in lead generation and decreasing bounce rate by getting massive unrelevant traffic.In short, SEO is and will be alive but in a smarter way ;)
What can you do to rank higher after hummingbird algo launch?
- Create good quality content and build an authority of your website.
- Try SMO to get others way open for your traffic and lead generation
- Work for user/client and not for search engine's. This is most important. I will write more on this for designer, developers and seo :)

- Reading and common sense and experience :)
- Reading the posts and news of authorised writer. Don't read from anywhere as they will make you confuse so read from people having name or authorised in SEO industry

SEO Tips for Website Testing for Developers, Designers, Testing Team

Today I would like to talk about few tips for testing team that includes developers, testers, beta tester, designer, etc. We SEO people usually face a problem in terms of traffic tracking because of testing team sometimes. Because when developers are trying any new development change or designer is going to change an image, logo or design of a site, they used to follow some bad practise which generates some unnatural stats for traffic, bounce rate, etc. and sometimes. Some traffic tracking sites like Alexa start giving stat like maximum traffic from India Though site is developed for a foriegn client. And then to count real traffic SEO people need to apply filters or block ip range of a company. It also make job of SEO tough to explain the clients that why such stats are there. It also affect in other way by showing downfall in traffic in upcoming months when development and testing part is over and they stopped opening sites. Few search engine also measure it as false or unnatural traffic if repeatedly site open requests are there from the same IP address and it can harm a site's performance in search engines, adwords, affiliate, etc. Of course it's not a fault of people who are testing as they do not now this is affecting the SEO, traffic tracking, etc because they are unaware of world of SEO.
So today I am going to give few tips or standard practise which a developer, designer or tester can follow to avoid condition of unnatural traffic and can help SEO people somehow:
- Don't open and close website again and again just to check a small change of code or design.
- If you are developing or designing anything new and want to test it then better to test in local system first and then upload it on live site. So it will save lots of open close request of live site for small small changes
- If you know that you are about to work on the website for whole day then let it stay open in one tab of
- browser so whenever you make any change, you can simply go to website and refresh it to check the change. It will save new site load requests and will continue in one session.
- If you are doing changes in multiple pages, the rather than opening each page in new tab better to open a website in single tab and the navigate through the website in different pages.
- If you have opened a page of website and the test is successfully done and you think you won't need to open website again still do not close the website right away. just stay on the website for a while and navigate afterwards to 1-2 pages and then close it.
You might be thinking why to do all these? :) or what if we don't follow this. Explanation could be technical and difficult to understand but I would like to point out the factors of it:
- It will save website from getting unnatural traffic stats.
- Decrease unnatural bounce rate [when you stop opening and closing single page it will decrease bounce rate]
- It will increase user engagement, page views and user loyalty.
- It will make job of SEO bit easier by not spending hours in explaining client or filtering the native traffic.
- It will preserve the bandwidth and will use it for actual clients and never gives "509 bandwidth exceed" error to actual visitor :)
now what is bounce rate and what is traffic stat that needs one more descriptive blog post :) So just start this practice and contribute in your site's SEO :)

Today I am going to talk about personal branding and Blogging as best tool to create strong personal branding. I will try to make it as simpler and short as possible. But bare the length if you find it long because i believe if you give information then give it completely or don't give it because half information is worst than no information. Now coming on the topic,
Recently I have visited few business events related to digital marketing and have also been part of international business event campaigns for vary industries. And what I get to learn from all those exhibitors, speakers and visitors of the event is Personal branding is the most important and mandatory part somehow. Why? how? let's talk on that in detail.
First of all what is the meaning of Personal Branding?
In Simplest words, Be Famous. In simple language with brief I would say, do something unique so people of your community or world start knowing you by your own name. In more simpler world, people start searching for you on search engines rather than on social media sites. And you can set milestone that Google show your knowledge graph in Google search result when people search for you as result of your efforts to build a brand.
For those who are not technical people, knowledge graph is information including your name, detail, pictures, etc Google shows in sidebar. For example when you search for Shakespeare, Google will show you the knowledge graph of him in sidebar, marked in red in below image.
In more detail, When people start talking about you, start following you and start knowing you by your own name is known as building a personal brand.
Benefits of Building brand:
Finding your own Qualities and enhancement of self-awareness
It will allow you to find your own unique qualities and pitfalls by critics as well. You can take complaints or criticism as feedback and can work on it to improve yourself as a person or professional. As you start getting progress and build your brand you will learn what people like about you and what you should work on to be more better. As you start improving it will also get you tremendous self confidence

As you will start taking interest in particular niche domain & building your brand in it, you will start finding people from your community who belongs to the same nature or profession. In online world, digital branding is also known as creating unique resume where people wont ask you the question tell me something about yourself. Easiest way is as I mentioned before set a milestone of getting Google Knowledge graph for yourself . :)

She was the reader of my previous blog and when I stop writing she missed contact of mine :) I felt awesome when from a crowd of 30-40 people she recognized a silently sitting girl and told her she is fan of her :) which lead me somewhere to write this blog and build my brand too

All the above mentioned ways might failed or may be difficult but being a blogger is very much easy way for anyone. As you know in digital world Blog is a platform which allows you to speak what you feel. You can represent your views, thoughts in simplest way ever and in language you feel most comfortable with and you can be a public figure and build your own brand. I can give you the example of few people who get famous because of their blogging and started a trend somehow who stands out of others were Matt Cutts - Google Web Spam Head, Danny Sullivian - editor-in-chief of Search Engine Land. What? do you think they gained it because of their industry? Then what would you say about Malala Yousafzai? A normal Pakistani girl who started a revolution by her blogging.
How to use Blogging as Personal Branding Tool?
Are you confused or thinking that it needs profound technical knowledge of blogging and technology? Neah.. it's not like that, it's damn easy. Here are the simplest steps ever for being blogger:
I have stopped writing since long time on it about a year or two on that blog and the image above is the screenshot I took just now. The blog still gets visitors. I used to write that blog at midnight after tiring day so never did proof reading. sometimes me myself don't know what I might written. I just write it with thinking I am writing it for myself and self satisfaction. So blogging is anyone's cup of tea. Even if you are shy or reserved. Writing a blog is something like talking with ourselves and when we publish it others can read what we think and feel about something or how much sound knowledge we have about some technology or aea. The only thing required is activeness in Blogging. Because if you stop writing blog after few posts you will be lost in the forest of bloggers as you will start loosing your visitors and followers and wont be able to create your brand which is our sole purpose for blogging, right? .
Even if you don't want to build your brand, I suggest you to be a blogger. As it will allow you to meet yourself, increase your self-confidence, allow you to know what is current trend in market, what people like about you and you can find similarly crazy people from the glob :)
