Poor Grammar Effect on your SEO Efforts

Content Writing SEO Tips
Matt Cutts, The Google Web Spam team head has revealed some insight on the effect of grammar and other language related factors on your SEO factors.

The poor grammar and language don't directly affect your rankings, but as we all know Google's motto is to "Work for the visitor aka audience and  not for the search engines." If your website has poor content with many typos and grammatical mistakes then it might not get the loyal user engagement. People might not feel to read more and never return back which will affect your brand and number of visitors rather say "Loyal Visitors". So make sure that your content is easy to understand with no spelling and.or grammar errors.

In the recent video of Matt, he also mentioned that Google is becoming more and more intelligent in indexing and screening the content. In the near future, it can categorize the content written by experts or some naive writer. So make sure to give your own touch to your writing. It will help you to create your own brand as well. So write quality content for both audience and search engines.

How does comments on a blog affect the SEO efforts?
If you are writing the blogs and getting comments with poor grammar then you don't need to worry much about it. The audience will concern about the writer's write-up more than the other visitors. If your blog is messed up with some spammy links in poor comments then it might end up with the Google penalty. So do not forget to put comment moderation.

Conclusion:
Write unique and effective content with your own touch to stand out of the cohort of  writers to get value from search engines. Write error free content without any spelling and grammar mistakes to get value from your readers. Do comment moderations to avoid spammy outbound links and do not worry much about spelling or grammar mistakes in the comments.

Hope this SEO Tips will help.

Understand Google & Its Search Result from Danny Sullivan - AIM Conference 2014

Danny Sullivan at AIM Conference 2014
AIM conference 2014 held in Huntington Beach. The experts shared their knowledge at the conference. One of the known names of the Internet Marketing industry, Danny Sullivan, was one of the keynote speakers. He took a session on topic "Google". I must say, nothing else can be more interesting than hearing about the Google from the Danny. He revealed some very interesting facts about Google and its search results. Here is What Danny needs to say about Google & its Search result.

"Google is the neighbor that you can't ignore. Google is holding the 60% market share of all searches. It is a primary search habit for any type of search. It is very unlikely for any competitor to make Google seated back. Google is like smoking a cigarette, but it doesn't kill you. New trends like native advertising really muddy the water when it comes to how Google "scores" links from other sites. The Panda (one of the Google Algorithm) is created to refrain search from the low quality content from the rankings. Google's goal is to work for the "Searchers", not for the "publishers". Google is punishing the bad links instead of just discounting the credits of those backlinks. In September 2013 , The Google algorithm was entirely built again with the Hummingbird. The Hummingbird (Google's search algo.) understands the entities. The only goal of the Google is to improve the search for the consumers." Danny revealed a few facts on the Google search algorithm.

Then Danny move towards a bit advanced topic of the Structured Markup, "The structured markup has to happen. Mainly, it's used for the locations, but more will come. It provides the mechanism to provide more specifics about your website. Any webmaster should use the structured markup to improve the Google entity search." He added, "Google+ Local has huge impact on personalized results. You rank better if "friends" with people. Google plus might go away, but the Google local listing will remain crucial. When it comes to local search it pulls from Google+ not the search. Claim your listing before someone else does!"

Danny headed on the topic of Authorship. He gave some very useful advice about using the authorship on pages with real authors to establish the Authority. Do not fake it. Authorship online needs to link back to real person and Google profile to establish authority. He added some more insight on design. He implied that "Websites should load well on Smartphones. The issues are likely landing page related. Google doesn't care if a website is mobile vs responsive. All they care is it works well for the Smartphone which means the load time of a website is crucial. People search differently on mobile vs. desktop or laptop. Mobile is the best for the folks who want to or needs purchase now! What does your mobile visitor really want? Know that, and deliver it."

Then Danny gets into more advanced topic of wearable. He exclaimed, "Are your sites WEARABLE...eyes, wrist...they better be!! Wearable may be the future of search so pull of your socks for that."

In the end segment Danny revealed those facts which often get debunked by the Matt, Web Spam team head of the Google, "Google wants to reward trustworthy brands ... big or small. Google will keep rewarding brands. So Make your brand essential to Google"

Danny concluded his session with these insights, "Panda, Penguin & Hummingbird aren't the Google conspiracy. The real conspiracy is the ADS! Free space is diminishing everywhere… Be prepared to Pay to Play!"

The Conclusion
If we epitomize the session of the Danny on Google then we can say that Searches were based on letters, patterns not the actual word, thing, but now it is entity driven and getting more intelligent. Understand how people are searching information. Adapt to that information and adjust accordingly. Take advantage of the advanced search marketing methodology including Local Listing, Authorship, responsive design, click to call, etc. Google rewards brands so make yourself irresistible BRAND for Google. Adopt the advanced technology at an early stage like wearables. Be ready to pay to play as Free space is diminishing everywhere."

How Google Shows Title in Search Results?

Many webmasters usually exclaimed on the question like how Google selects the title of the search result? or why Google is not showing the title I have set in my meta? or From where Google picks the title of the page? Many authors have given answer of these questions often and recently in one of his video Matt Cutts, The Head of Google Spam Team has answered this question again.

From where Google Selects the Title to show up in Search Result?
Google usually looks at the title tag of the page, meta tags like H1 of the page at first. If it can't find the relevant title which reflects the user's search query then it looks into the open directories and other related sources and pick up the title which closely reflects the user search query.

Why Google is not Showing the defined Title of my Webpage?
The simple answer is the tile you have set is either not relevant to search query or not short enough to show into the search results.

How Can I make sure that Google Search Result Shows the Title I have defined?
Google considers three criteria for showing the title in search results.
1. Title is relevant to the user query.
2. The title is relatively short.
3. It reflects the web page briefly.

You need to anticipate what the user might search for and then reflect that in your title in brief and accurate language. It must reflect your product and/or service. Misleading title might either increase bounce rates or will invite penalties.

Another myth I would like to conquer is if we extend the title more than the defined character limit, it will be counted as spam and will increase the chances of penalty. There is no evidence of penalty for this case. If your title is more than the defined character limit, Google will simply truncate it and show it with dots. There are few webpages which need long title and it's obvious. So there is no reason to take action against long titles. The example is a news website which has to show the complete headline in the title which might be long. The advisable thing is don't make your title ambiguous and/or misleading. Keep it short and crisp as and when possible.

Hope this helps.
